Meet Sarah
Growing up as a first generation immigrant, highly-sensitive, overachieving perfectionist, I often felt like I was never “enough” and had to fend for myself. I also learned to people-please and chronically say “yes”, as society often has us women do.
My healing journey from this societal conditioning started with yoga and mindfulness, which helped me appreciate my body and regulate my nervous system, especially in stressful times like getting my Ph.D.
As a business professor, I am committed to accessibility and upward mobility of all people, especially those in marginalized groups.
I also am committed to helping my students achieve their goals in life, from career advice to personalized office hours.
My research is on topics of diversity equity & inclusion, as well as the benefits of mindfulness practices in organizations and higher education.
When I became a coach, I learned the value of listening deeply and committing to guiding someone to truly believe in - and act upon - their potential.
Ultimately, my path has allowed me to create meaningful connections by sharing my gift of holding space for others to be themselves, whether it is in the classroom, on the yoga mat, or in a coaching session.
The biggest takeaway is: the healing journey cannot be done alone.
I share my discoveries from my academic research, coupled with my years of experience in teaching mindfulness practices, to coach you so that you truly believe that you belong and are more than enough.
I can’t wait to walk this journey with you.

That moment when you feel seen and heard.
That message you receive when someone gets your story.
That momentum you channel when someone supports you fully.
Sarah’s Bio
Sarah Lee is the founder of Shed & Shine, a comprehensive coaching container that guides individuals on their journey to shed harmful roles, narratives, and habits (either placed on them from society, family systems, or media) and find the courage, voice, and wisdom to operate from their most authentic and aligned selves so that they can shine, giving their gifts, light and beauty to the world.
The method is simple but profound: through research driven education, mindful movement embodiment practices, and compassion based coaching and mentorship, people of all backgrounds will be equipped to step into their own power so that they can create the lives they love living. Sarah blends all her knowledge, experience and interests into this coaching program - an outpouring of her own heart and mind - as an example of what might be possible for us when we live out our purpose without the constraints of other people’s agendas and the constrictions of societal pressures.
Sarah is based in Northern California, is a university professor, yoga and meditation teacher, lover of all things art & music, and blissful child of Mother Nature. She is a Sagittarius, Vata-Pitta, and an HSP (highly-sensitive person).
